2007 CHANGES FOR IRONMAN RACES - KONA QUALIFIERS

  1. Race Entry Fee: The race entry fee is $475.00. (This will be the only amount the race director collects from the qualified athletes).
  2. USA Triathlon: The 2007 Ford Ironman World Championship will be a USA Triathlon sanctioned event. It is required that all athletes are either a one-day or annual member of USA Triathlon. The athlete will be required to show proof of their annual USA Triathlon membership or purchase a one-day membership at registration in Kona.
  3. The USA Triathlon "age up" rule will not apply to the 2007 Ford Ironman World Championship in Kona. Athletes will compete at the qualifying races and the World Championships at the current age they are on race day. Note, this is consistent with our (WTC's) current policy.
  4. Athlete Head Shot Photos are no longer required.
  5. The copies of the yellow certificates will be required to be sent overnight to the athlete liaison. These certificates are used to confirm the qualified athletes for each qualifying race. This past year, we had a few instances of lost certificates and/or certificates sent by boat that took forever to get to the Kona Office.
